Private 1:1 Yoga Sessions

Your Practice, Your Pace, Your Goals

UPCOMING EXPERIENCES

Why Choose 1:1 Yoga Sessions?

1. Completely Tailored to You

Every body is different. Every person has unique goals, challenges, and areas that need attention. In our 1:1 sessions, everything we do is designed specifically for you.

This means:

  • Sessions that work with your body's strengths and limitations

  • Modifications and variations that actually suit you

  • The freedom to move at your own pace without comparing yourself to others

  • Focus on the areas that matter most to you right now

Whether you're managing a back injury, building strength after illness, working with limited flexibility, or simply prefer a more personal approach to learning, we'll create a practice that honours where you are today.

2. Focused, Hands-On Guidance

In a group class, the teacher's attention is divided. In our 1:1 sessions, you have my complete focus for the entire session.

You'll receive:

  • Detailed, hands-on assists to to help encourage greater body awareness (face-to-face sessions)

  • Clear verbal cuing and demonstrations (online sessions)

  • Guidance on how to use props effectively for support and progression

  • Immediate feedback and assists as you move

  • Time to ask questions and truly understand what you're doing

So if you’ve ever felt confused about how to move your body or found certain poses or movement inaccessible, we can break these down step by step until they make sense in your body. The progress you make in 1:1 sessions is often significantly faster than in group settings because every moment is focused on your learning.

3. A Safe, Judgement-Free Space

For many people, group yoga classes can feel intimidating. There's nowhere to hide when you don't know what you're doing, and it's easy to feel self-conscious about your body or your level of experience.

In our private sessions, it's just you and me. No one watching, no one judging, no pressure to keep up or look a certain way.

This space allows you to:

  • Ask all the questions you've been holding back

  • Try poses you've been curious about without fear of falling or looking awkward

  • Work on areas you might feel unconfident about in front of others

  • Move at exactly the pace that feels right for you

  • Take rest when you need it without feeling guilty

  • Be completely honest about what's working and what isn't

This safe container enables real transformation to happen—when you can let go of self-consciousness and simply explore what your body can do.

4. Build a Practice That Fits Your Life

One of the biggest challenges with yoga is maintaining consistency. Life gets busy, schedules change, and that weekly class becomes harder to commit to.

In our 1:1 sessions, we'll work together to create a sustainable practice that actually fits into your real life.

We'll develop:

  • Short sequences you can do at home in 10-15 minutes

  • A longer practice for when you have more time

  • Breathing techniques you can use anywhere—at your desk, in bed, during stressful moments

  • Tools for managing specific issues like back pain, tight hips, or stress

  • A clear understanding of how to practice safely on your own

My goal isn't to make you dependent on weekly sessions forever. It's to give you the knowledge, confidence, and tools to build your own sustainable practice that serves you for life.

5. More Than Just a Physical Practice

While the physical postures (asana) are wonderful, yoga offers so much more. In our private sessions, we have the time and space to explore the full breadth of what yoga has to offer.

We can work on:

  • Pranayama (breath work): Techniques to calm your nervous system, increase energy, or improve focus

  • Meditation: Building a practice that works for your mind and lifestyle

  • Philosophy: Understanding the deeper aspects of yoga and how they apply to modern life

  • Mental and emotional wellbeing: Using yoga as a tool for stress management, anxiety relief, or emotional processing

  • Energy and relaxation: Work with restful yoga practices like restorative and yin yoga

Your sessions can evolve as your needs change. Some weeks you might need a vigorous physical practice; other times, gentle restorative work and breathing might be exactly what you need. This again is the beauty of a private session, in that we can adapt together according to your energy and body’s needs on the day.

Whether you're stepping onto the mat for the first time, working through an injury, or looking to deepen your existing practice, private yoga sessions offer something group classes simply can't—a practice designed entirely around you.

How We'll Work Together

Before Your First Session

  • Before you commit to anything, we'll have a no-obligation phone or video call where we'll discuss:

    • What you're hoping to get from yoga

    • Any physical limitations or health concerns

    • Your schedule and how 1:1 sessions might fit in

    • Whether we're a good fit to work together

  • Once you've booked your first session, you'll receive:

    • A questionnaire about your health history, experience level, and goals

    • A 15-minute pre-consultation (by phone or online) where we'll discuss your answers in depth

This ensures that when we start our first session, I already understand your needs and we can dive straight into creating your personalized practice.

During Our Sessions

  • Depending on where you live, this could be held in your home or hosted in my home in Long Ashton, North Somerset—a calm, welcoming space where we can work together without distractions. I'll provide all props (blocks, straps, bolsters, blankets).

  • We meet via video call. You'll need a yoga mat and a space where I can see your full body. I'll guide you through using household items (books, cushions, belts) as props if you don't have yoga equipment.

Between Sessions

  • You'll receive notes or recordings from our sessions (if appropriate)

  • Simple home practice suggestions tailored to your goals

  • You're always welcome to message me with questions
